On behalf of the European Commission and Finland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union, it is our pleasure to invite you to the 13th Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET-Plan) Conference, which will take place on 13–15 November 2019 in Helsinki, Finland.
The conference will bring together high-level policy-makers, industry, research centers, international organisations and academia. Prime Minister of Finland Antti Rinne will open the conference together with European Commission’s representatives. Other confirmed speakers include Martin Pei, Chief Technical Officer of SSAB and Petteri Taalas, Secretary General of the World Meteorological Organization.
The event will begin on the afternoon of 13 November with technical visits to innovative energy technology sites near Helsinki. The official conference programme at Finlandia Hall will start on 14 November at 9.00 and end on 15 November at 14.00.
Sessions will address, among other topics, research and innovation (R&I) to support the clean energy transition keeping our industry competitive and involving citizens, the decarbonisation of industry, sector coupling and developments in renewable energy. Financing the transition towards net-zero emissions and circular economy, nuclear innovation and the role of women in clean energy will also be discussed.
