Pour vous aider à comprendre les termes spécifiques au FP7 (7e Programme-cadre de Recherche et Développement), nous les avons définis ci-dessous.

Advisory Groups

Advisory Groups have been set up by the Commission in every theme of FP7. They advise the Commission on the implantation of FP7 in their field. They produce valuable reports on the context of FP7 in specific fields.

Collaborative project

Support for research projects carried out by consortia with participants from different countries, aiming at developing new knowledge, new technology, products, demonstration activities or common resources for research. The size, scope and internal organisation of projects can vary from field to field and from topic to topic. Projects can range from small or medium-scale focused research actions to large scale integrating projects for achieving a defined objective. Projects may also target special groups such as SMEs and other smaller actors. The calls usually specifie the minimum number of partners to for such a project. This number is an eligibility criterium.

Consortium Agreement

Contract between the members of a project that complements the Grant Agreement signed with the Commission on several aspects:

  • The internal organisation of the consortium;
  • The distribution of the Community financial contribution;
  • Additional rules on dissemination and use including intellectual property rights arrangements, as appropriate;
  • The settlement of internal disputes.

Coordinator

The coordinator leads and represents the applicants. He or she acts as the point of contact with the Commission.

Deliverable

A deliverable represents a verifiable output of the project. Normally, each workpackage will produce one or more deliverables during its lifetime. Deliverables are often written reports but can also take another form, for example the completion of a prototype etc.

European Technology Platforms (ETP)

European Technology Platforms (ETPs) are industry-led stakeholder recognized by the Commission and defining research priorities in a broad range of technological areas in the form of strategic research agendas (SRA). Those agendas are major inputs in the definition of FP7 calls.

Information day (Info day)

Some of those events may host brokerage facilities (brokerage events) that favour the matching of required and offered expertise-partnership in order to submit a proposal in a given call.

JOUE

Journal officiel de l'Union européenne

Milestones

Control points where decisions are needed with regard to the next stage of the project.

SMART objectives

Partner

The members of a consortium in a proposal or project. These are legal entities, and have rights and obligations with regard to the Community.

Topic

Specific research topic open in a given call.

Work Package

A work package is a major sub-division of the proposed project with a verifiable end-point – normally a deliverable or a milestone in the overall project.

Workpackage Leader

A work package (WP) is a major sub-division of the proposed project with a verifiable end-point – normally a deliverable or a milestone in the overall project". Each work package (WP) is under the supervision of a workpackage leader.

Work Programme

A formal document of the Commission that sets out the research objectives and topics to be addressed. It also contains information that is set out further in the Guide for Applicants, including the schedule and details of the calls for proposals, indicative budgets, and the evaluation procedure.

Preliminary consortium meeting

Initial meeting of the consortium. It aims at defining the project, the partnership and the sharing of tasks

  • in the various workpackages of the project itself
